Trail Characteristics
A wide bridge with rails was built in 2020 for easy access to a constructed island
Natural surface trails are generally flat and packed
The paved trail route has shade, picnic tables, signs, and benches
Over half the trails are paved
Gravel paths around historic buildings are wide but bumpy
Dogs are allowed on all trails but discouraged from entering the visitor center and gallery
Artistic signs provide both art and information throughout the park
Some trails have an incline of greater than 8° before flattening out to level
The lip from the paved trail to the adjacent natural surface can be
up to 2-3” in places
